While many Joburgers share their joy and surprise at the unusual snowfall over the city and parts of the country, motorists have been urged to exercise caution while traveling on the roads.
Gauteng woke up to a winter wonderland on Monday after snow hit the city and many parts of the province amid the cold front sweeping the country.
Many have taken to social media to share videos and footage of the snow in areas such as Melville, Sandton, Parktown, Alberton and Krugersdorp.
The Eastern Cape Department of Transport has warned drivers to approach mountain passes in the province with extreme caution as snowfall continues to wreak havoc on some roads.
The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) has warned motorists in the city to “exercise extreme caution” on the roads.
