An off-duty police officer was allegedly killed by a group of four after he shot a patron in a pub in the Eastern Cape.
The NCO, 51, was stationed at the Mthatha Police Fixed Unit in Nelson Mandela’s home.
According to Hawks, the non-commissioned officer was off duty when he went to the Philakuzenzela bar in Nchigo, Tsulu on Saturday.
Police spokesperson W/O Ndiphiwe Mhlakuvana said he allegedly got into a heated argument with a patron at the pub.
“The argument was said to have reached its climax when the police officer shot and wounded the shepherd with whom he had an argument,” Mhlakovana said.
