Maritzburg United midfielder Rowan Heumann has said he would like to play with his idol and young boy Keegan Dolly at Kaizer Chiefs, amid reports of interest from the Soweto giants.
Human, 22, currently plays for Bafana Bafana in the Cosafa Cup in Durban and has been closely linked with Chiefs while SuperSport United is also in the mix.
The player shone last season for Maritzburg, but his efforts weren’t enough to help the selection team avoid relegation from the DStv Premiership via the playoffs.
humans He realizes the demand for his services, but says that potential suitors will have to make an offer good enough to convince Maritzburg chief Farouk Kadodia to let him go.
The human is from Westbury in Johannesburg, the same suburb that produced Dolly and Bafana legend Stephen Pienaar, who also played for Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
“I talk to Keagan a lot and I feel like there’s not a lot of pressure, but I need to keep working hard,” Heumann said.
“It would be nice to play with him (Dolly), but whatever happens, it happens.”
Human says his focus is on Bafana despite the apparent distraction of where he will play next season.
He said, “I get this question a lot but at this point I told my agent I’m in Cosafa and I’m focused on this”.
Bafana take on Eswatini in a must-win KOSAFA Cup match at Princess Magogo Stadium today at 6pm. SA lead Group A with four points from their 1-1 draw with Namibia and Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Botswana.
