The Hawks have yet to arrest anyone for killing activist Loyiso Nkohla, three months after his death.
Nkohla, 40, who was dubbed the “stool-thrower chief” for his controversial protests over poop-throwing, has died in hail of bullets At Philippi railway station in Cape Town on April 17.
At the time, a father of two was facilitating the transportation of the hundreds of bungalows that were being built on the railroad.
Unidentified gunmen opened fire while Nkohla was addressing a meeting at the station, hitting him several times. The police handed the investigation over to the Hawks family.
This week, Zanzi Hani, a spokesperson for the directorate, told Sowetan’s sister newspaper, that the Hawks did not make arrests in the case.
“There is no arrest yet,” Hani said, “I am not ready to disclose anything else.” She added that the investigation is underway.
