Here is where you can get supplies

Johannesburg Water has released a list of where residents in affected areas can get water supplies during the 58-hour water outage.

The planned outage began at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and will end at 5 a.m. on Friday.

The purpose of the shutdown is to replace and upgrade aging critical infrastructure and reduce unplanned infrastructure outages.

Johannesburg Water said Rand Water will carry out the planned work on the Feringing water treatment plant, Eikenhof booster pumping station, Zwickerbosch water treatment plant and the Zwartkopjes system.

Water pumping will be reduced at the Daleside, Zwartkopjes and Eikenhof boosting stations.

Johannesburg Water has placed stationary water tanks at locations across the city, including Sandton, Randburg, Soweto, Langleit, Roodepoort and Southdale.

Mobile water tankers will be provided in affected areas and replacement water supplies will be arranged in hospitals, clinics, schools, municipal offices, police stations and shopping malls.
