South African comedian Trevor Noah has received what will be his last Emmy Award nomination The Daily Show. Noah exited the talk show in December 2023. He was nominated in Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series category.
After one last round of voting by the 20,000-strong members of the Television Academy, the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards are scheduled for September 18. But that ceremony is likely to be postponed if the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) calls a strike, with a negotiation deadline approaching midnight (0700 GMT Thursday).
The actors’ strike means the stars boycott the concert.
Studios including Netflix and Disney have called in federal mediators to help resolve deadlocks over wages and other terms. But the actors’ union said late Tuesday that it was “not confident the employers have any intention of bargaining for a deal.”
