Children playing near an informal settlement in Inanda, north of Durban, made a horrifying discovery on Wednesday when they found the skeletal remains of an infant boy.
Prem Balram, a spokesman for the private security company, Reaction Unit (ROSA), said the remains were recovered from the bush.
The discovery was made by children playing near a slum. They informed their parents, who called Rosa for help.
“The children led Rosa’s team down a few meters of unpaved road. Officers were directed to bushes where the location of the skull was indicated.”
Balram said a box containing bones was found near the skull.
The police are checking.
