Five suspects arrested in KwaNobuhle mass shooting

Eastern Cape Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the killing of six people and the injury of four others at a house in Kwanupulle, Jkiberha.

The arrests in connection with the shootings on Tuesday – which were suspected to be drug-related – took place in the early hours of Thursday morning, said police spokesman Kaul Priscilla Naidoo.

The suspects, aged between 21 and 34, were arrested in Kwanupole and Arcadia in Betelsdorp.

Among the victims were five men and a 17-year-old girl.

The local Herald newspaper said the property where the shooting took place was a known drug den, where Mandrax and Tick had been confiscated during previous police operations.
