A 44-year-old man, who was arrested with 107 stolen TVs, has been released on bail by the Limpopo Court.
Abrar Jamal Hassan was arrested on Monday afternoon at approximately 2pm in the Musina China Mall.
Limpopo Police spokesperson Colonel Malisila Ledwapa said:The police were on duty when they noticed a suspicious man holding a television set. The suspect was approached and questioned and failed to give reasonable answers. After initial investigations, more than 100 Samsung 32-inch (81 cm) TVs were found in storage.
“Police also found that TVs were stolen during a kidnapping incident that occurred in October 2022 in Voslorus, Gauteng.”
The suspect was arrested and the television sets were confiscated. It is valued at R375,000.
Hasan was charged with possession of suspected stolen property and appeared at Musina Magistrates Court on Wednesday where he was released on R10,000 bail.
