
Celebration of the Proteus (Gallo)
- India will tour South Africa in December and January.
- The multi-format tour includes three T20 international matches, three ODIs and two Test matches.
- Boxing Day test matches are scheduled to take place at SuperSport Park and Newlands from January 3.
India’s tour schedule for their 2023/24 visit to South Africa at the end of the year has been finalized by Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The two teams will play each other in two Tests, three ODIs and three T20s from December 10 to January 7 across multiple venues.

The T20I series kicks off on Sunday 10th December at Kingsmead Stadium in Durban. A second and third T20Is will follow at St George’s Park and Wanderers on Tuesday, December 12, and Thursday, December 14, respectively.
Wanderers will host the Pink Day ODI on Sunday, December 17th, before the two teams return to Gqeberha for the second ODI on Tuesday, December 19th.
The final match of the series will be played at Bolandpark in Paarl on Thursday, December 21st.
The Freedom Series, which honors two global icons in Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi, kicks off with a Boxing Day test at SuperSport Park from December 26-30.
The highly anticipated tour will conclude with the New Year’s Test at Newlands Cricket Ground from 3-7 January.

BCCI Honorary Secretary, Jai Shah, added: “The Freedom Series is significant not only because it features two excellent Test teams, but also because it honors Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, two great leaders who shaped our country and the world around them.
“The Boxing Day Test and the New Year Test are among the most important matches in the international cricket calendar, and the schedule has been particularly planned around these dates.
“India has always received strong support in South Africa and I am confident the fans will experience some enthralling competitions without lack of intensity.”
