Police in Pushbackridge, Mpumalanga, are appealing for information after two men were shot dead in Doarslop on Thursday and a third man was kidnapped.

According to police spokesman Brigadier Sylvie Mohlala, the man was killed when gunmen fired indiscriminately at a liquor outlet.

“After buying some drinks, he allegedly went to join his friends who were out. He further disclosed that a group of armed men appeared and shot him several times,” Mohlala said.

Paramedics witnessed his death at the scene.

A short distance away, Mahlala said, the body of another man from Chatal was found with a gunshot wound to the back.

In the same area, the attackers kidnapped a third man who was sitting in a Toyota Hilux bakery.

They later drop it off along the R40 and drive off with a bakkie.
