Bafana Bafana team finished third in the Kosava Cup from Malawi on penalties

The Malawian keeper made some good saves from Katlejo Mohamed’s dangerous strike and Chiguvachu Mabasa, who always looked dangerous when in the opposition area.

Ramuripoli made three changes before the second half kicked off, seeking to boost South Africa’s chances, by introducing Sekhakhani, Lakai and Reiners to Gomed, Dithijani and Letswalo.

The changes were effective as they kept Malawi under pressure and they were more in control of the match.

Reiners came close to scoring their second goal of the tournament after 10 minutes on the field, but the net was blocked.

Bafana had plenty of chances but failed to find the net and the match had to be decided in a penalty shootout.

Lakai, Sean Mugila, Rainers, Mabasa and Rowan Humane scored penalties for South Africa.

For Malawi, Kaunga, Lawrence Chazia and Lloyd Aaron scored, but Christopher Komuembi’s shot hit the crossbar.
