Nary to win the jackpot again

With Ethiopian runner Tadawo Nare now in pole position to win the Spar women’s 10km event, she said she will go all out to win the title and join Irvette van Zyl and Renee Kalmer to win it three times in a row.

Nare continued her dominance when she won Saturday’s Mbombela leg with a time of 32:28 in cool conditions, with compatriot Salaam Jabre finishing second in 32:52 and Uganda’s Doux Agok, who was competing in her first race, coming third. 33:25.

Nari missed the first race in Cape Town but went on to win in Jekyberha, Durban and Mbombela and that win puts her in a dominant position with two races in Pretoria next month and Johannesburg in the remaining October.

“There is a lot of work ahead of me. Not only that, but I have some big races waiting for me,” Nare told the media.

“I have other goals to focus on and other races that I need to prepare for, but at the same time, I’m not going to let this one go.
