Zandile Kumalo tells the court when she first saw the defendants at Miyiwa’s trial

Zandele “Zandi” Kumalo, who witnessed the housebreaking where footballer Senzo Myiwa was killed, told the court that she first noticed Accused No. 2, Bongani Ntanzi, as an intruder when Mthukosezi Thuala was giving evidence in court.

“As soon as I entered the court,” she said, “when I looked, my body, my soul, everything, my mind just came back and I saw it.”

Ntanzi, Muzikaw Juliwa Sepia, Mthubesi Prince Mnkubi, Mthukoseni Mafiza, Sifisokohle Nkani Ntuli are charged with premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of firearms without a license and possession of ammunition. All have pleaded not guilty.

Kelly Kumalo, her mother Ntumbi, her sister Zandi, Zandi’s boyfriend Longwe Twala, and friends Senzo Thuala and Tumelo Madlala were in the house the night Mayiwa was shot.
