Eskom says Phase 4 load shedding will take place from 2pm on Sunday.
This will continue until 5am on Monday, with Phase 3 load shedding taking place until 4pm on Monday, followed by Phase 4 until 5am on Tuesday.
From Tuesday onwards, phases 2 and 4 will be implemented until further notice.
The faults increased to 16,943 megawatts of generation capacity, while the generation capacity out of service for planned maintenance amounted to 3,761 megawatts.
Within the past 24 hours, a generating unit at both the Camden and Matla stations has been returned to service. However, in the same period, every generating unit in Duvha, Grootvlei, Kriel and Matla power plants was disconnected for repairs.
The delay in returning to service one generating unit at Kendall and two generating units at the Totoka power plants is contributing to capacity constraints.
The company has repeated its call for people to turn off non-essential devices to help the network, including turning off heaters and pool pumps between 5pm and 9pm.
