It has now been revealed that the man accused of killing his girlfriend and hiding her body in a suitcase told her co-workers that she had quit her job and that they intended to move out of the house where they lived.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) reported that Ms. Risper Ndong and Mr. Maurice Nguguna, both aged 28, had lived together for five months prior to her death.

The deceased, who was killed on April 17, 2023, was a chef at the same Kamakis restaurant along Eastern Bypass nyama choma where Mr Nguguna was working as cashier.

On the same morning, the suspect left the house and went to work as usual. He has informed his colleagues that the deceased has left her job and that they are moving from their home to an unspecified destination.”

In his testimony to the police, Mr Nguguna said he had been suspicious of his girlfriend and kept asking on several occasions why she had arrived home at 3am and yet he got home at 10pm.

In this regard, the management of the building in which the couple works made it clear that the nature of their work would not allow both of them to leave at the same time. For this purpose, the man was supposed to arrive at work and leave earlier than his girlfriend

“However, due to the nature of their duties, the man will be the first to arrive at the house before 10pm, while the deceased will be taken home later in the devil’s hours around 3am,” the international directorate said.

The DCI reports that a man who suspected his girlfriend didn’t spend as much time balancing the day’s sales as he thought didn’t take it kindly. The problem developed into the main reason for the couple’s frequent arguments.

However, if it were not for a report by the owner of the building where the body of the deceased was dumped, it could be difficult for detectives and police officers to find the truth and catch Mr Nguguna.

The body was hidden inside a suitcase and left outside a rented unit in Kamakis on the evening of April 18, 2023. All of this was recorded on surveillance footage.

“The suspect (then) carried a lifeless body disguised as a bag, and after one kilometer, threw it out the gate to a rented building, before exiting. CCTV footage obtained by the investigators showed the suspect carrying the bag around 9:35pm before dumping it.” “.

The body was discovered by the tenants who informed the landlord who in turn called the police officers attached to Gatungora Police Station.
