Officers from the Kitengela Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are investigating the stabbing death of a 20-year-old man Thursday night by unknown assailants.
Later, strangers on a motorbike deposited his body in the emergency room of Kitengela County Hospital.
According to the hospital report, three unidentified middle-aged men arrived at the hospital around 9 pm with the deceased, who was bleeding heavily, took him to the emergency room, and then left without saying a word.
While providing first aid, the hospital staff realizes that the patient is already dead.
The hospital administration notified the police, and his body was subsequently moved to the facility’s mortuary.
The deceased was hit with a single knife below the rib cage on the left side.
The deceased Kabindo was working for a stone crushing company on Nkuruka Road.
His co-workers, who spoke to The Nation, claimed the man had been picked up by a friend around 6pm on Thursday from an unknown location before the same friend returned at around 11pm to let them know the man had been brought to hospital after being stabbed.
“The same person who picked him up came back at night with bad news, (the victim) was a withdrawn young man. It is very unfortunate,” said a colleague.
On Friday morning, Kitengela investigators were able to locate the crime scene on the Norkopir Estate near the PCEA Church.
There were traces of blood, but the murder weapon has not yet been found.
Kitengela DCI Benson Mutie told The Nation that a suspect has been arrested in what is suspected to be a crime of passion.
He said, “Our preliminary investigations indicate that there was a dispute between the deceased and another man over a woman, and we are following the leads.”
