A third-year Muranga University of Technology student allegedly got into an unpleasant argument with her lover before taking her own life.
According to reports, Samantha Nyawera Wanjugo, a student pursuing a degree in tourism management, hanged herself at her home in Muranga Township area.
According to a note from the Dean of Students, Asige Chavulimu, dated April 18, 2023, the woman died on Tuesday around 1:30 am.
Since then, the body has been moved to Muranga Level-5 Hospital mortuary and burial plans are underway.
“It is with great sadness that the Office of the Dean of Students announces the death of Samantha Nyawera Wanjugo. She died on 18th April 2023 after committing suicide in a rented room near Total Filling station at approximately 1:30 am. Body is in Muranga Liver Hospital morgue 5. Funeral arrangements are underway and a date will be announced Burial at a later date,” read part of the statement.
