The $14.5 billion tax evasion lawsuit has re-indicted Keroche CEO Tabitha Karanja.
Senator Tabitha, Nakuru, has defended herself against 10 counts of tax evasion, before Milimani lead investigating judge Esther Kimelo.
This comes after the prosecution asked to change the charges.
However, the defense told the judge that they would prefer to solve the case out of court.
The court was told “We have already begun the process of settling the matter with the KRA and if the court allows, we would like to settle the matter”.
The court also gave her 45 days to begin the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) process, and her failure saw the case move to full trial.
Obviously, the defense was not ready. I give them 45 days to initiate a failover of the ADR which will not be granted any further delay or reprieve. “The court was always ready,” Kimelo said.
The case will be heard on July 26.
