The KENYA Airlift Program is an award-winning initiative that helps high-achieving Kenyan students realize their dream of studying in the United States, regardless of their financial background.

The program was founded in late 2018 by US Education and Technology Consultant Bob Moeti in collaboration with Meru County Assembly member Hon. Dennis Kyogura is referred to as DMK.

The program’s mission is achieved through a major partnership with MPOWER Financing as the official lending partner for unsecured student loans that cover both tuition and living expenses, a partnership with universities in the United States where the program negotiates tuition and scholarship waivers, and a partnership with The Airlift Sacco to help fund expenses Student transportation and partnership with Qatar Airways who offer discount airfare to students.

The program only accommodates incredibly ambitious and talented Kenyans who want to take a leap of faith in joining the technology industry by studying STEM or business-related Masters programmes.

This award-winning program attempts to fix three major challenges faced by Kenyan students in their quest to study in America, namely:

  • Get financing for moving, tuition and living expenses.
  • Find well-paying jobs after graduation
  • Obtaining permanent residence in America after graduation

The program is divided into two options; Regular and parallel, and depends on the student’s academic qualifications and financial capabilities.

The academic requirement for an ordinary student is a B ordinary grade at KCSE with a normal B in mathematics or physics and a second class division at the undergraduate level, while the academic requirements for parallel students is a C+ grade average at the KCSE and a second class division at the undergraduate level .

The program has an active membership of approximately 2,000 students, and as of January 2023, the program has seen over 200 students transfer from inception, to study at various major public universities in the United States, with many more currently in the transfer pipeline.

The program has a formal working relationship with the best universities in North America, namely:

  • University of Alabama in Huntsville
  • Grand Valley State University
  • South Dakota State University
  • Indiana University of Pennsylvania
  • Missouri State University
