This position’s main responsibility is to oversee the cluster’s accounting activities for South Africa. This includes coordinating with the SSC for transactions involving the Treasury, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger, as well as ensuring adherence to financial policies (internal and external), statutory requirements, and tax laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accuracy of the P&L (below PC) and Balance Sheet by taking the lead in the monthly close process and year-end operations.
  • The cluster’s main point of contact for coordinating with the SSC on matters relating to the Treasury, A/P, and General Ledger.
  • the cluster members’ preparation and submission of statutory requirements and/or their main point of contact with an outsourced statutory agency.
  • coordinating SOAR testing and internal and external audits
  • Implement/implement worldwide tax and insurance strategies
  • Provide financial support for the cluster’s operational, payment processing (including coordination with SSC, payroll, treasury, etc.), and non-inventory purchase order needs.
  • Administration of credit applications and vendor master data.
  • directing and coordinating cost-cutting efforts in the Cluster and South Africa

Qualifications:

  • BCom Accounting + Hons Min 3 years post qualification experience in an FMCG environment (preferably with a multi-national company)
  • CA (SA) with at least 3 years post articles experience or
  • Qualified CA
